1. Be Omni-Channel

Creating an omnichannel marketing strategy means implementing both in-person and digital marketing methods. Today’s consumers expect businesses to have in-person and online shopping opportunities. Especially for small businesses, it is important to combine both of these methods in one.

2. Set the Holiday Mood

Most shoppers during the holiday season have gift shopping on their minds. Because of this, it is crucial to create an environment that puts out the holiday spirit. Some ideas on how to create a holiday forward atmosphere include:

  • Colorful window displays
  • Holiday-themed store displays
  • Decorate with trees

3. Spread Some Holiday Cheer

Organizing a charity event is a great way to play into the consumer’s giving spirit during the holiday season. Charity events are a way to bring in new business and spread news about the company culture. In addition, your business can sell products with the intention of consumers turning around to donate them to charities.

4. Offer Shopping Lists and Gift Ideas

Most shoppers during the holiday have lists of gifts they need to purchase for their friends and family. One way to make holiday shopping easier for your consumers is to provide a specific shopping list. Creating gift guides is another great way to showcase what your business offers during the holidays.

5. Run a 25 Days of Christmas Promotion

Many consumers try to find the best deals during the days leading up to Christmas. Chances are, your competitors are offering promotions, so it is important to come up with ways to bring your consumers into your store. Try offering a different promotion or discount on each day leading up to Christmas.

6. Host a Holiday Event

Consumers are always on the lookout for free or inexpensive opportunities to celebrate the holiday season. Consider hosting a holiday event and providing free cocoa or treats to engage customers.

7. Partner Up with Other Local Businesses

Many times, partnering up with local businesses can be mutually beneficial. However, it is important to partner with another business to be sure they are not a direct competitor.

8. Gift Giving is for Everyone

Consider passing out a complimentary gift with purchases from your consumers during the holiday season. Most people love receiving gifts and may be more inclined to purchase from your business if they know they will receive something extra if they do so.

9. Embrace Cultural Diversity

It is crucial to recognize that all your customer’s may not celebrate the same holidays. Think of creative ways to serve all of your customers a holiday experience regardless of their demographic.

10. Be a Holiday Helper

One of the best and most successful marketing strategies is to offer your customers something useful beyond the actual products. Some examples of this include:

  • Holiday decorating guide
  • Craft ideas
  • Holiday hosting tips
