Social media branding should be an extension of your business’s brand. Social media is a unique space where brands can target specific groups of people and reach a massive audience they wouldn’t have access to otherwise.
Because more and more businesses establish themselves on social media, brands must find opportunities to differentiate themselves. Creating strong and engaging social media content is crucial to stand out in the midst of all the noise. Do not stray away from your branding. Follow your brand guidelines closely, as it will help increase brand recognition down the line.
Hopefully, before launching your social media push, you are already aware of your target audience. Once you have established exactly who your brand is marketed towards, identify where they spend their time online. Understanding that not all consumers spend equal amounts of time on all social media platforms will help you ensure that you are not wasting any time and reaching the right audience.
As mentioned previously, it is important to do your best to follow your brand guidelines to ensure cohesiveness across your branding. You may have to refine these guidelines slightly when jumping into creating a social media strategy. For example, hone in on your brand voice so your messaging is strong on social media while still aligning with your brand.
Once you know your audience and where they spend their time, determine what content they would find engaging and interesting. Creating and sharing content that your audience will resonate with is crucial. One of the main strengths of social media is its ability to create an online community. Consider responding to comments and make a goal to build relationships with your audience.
Partnering up with influencers or other brand advocates is a great way to expand your brand’s reach. By teaming up with an influencer with a loyal following, you not only are building up your brand’s credibility but also getting your brand name in front of a group of people who trust the recommendations and opinions of the person promoting you.
Tracking and monitoring analytics is crucial when running a successful social media campaign. If you do not identify areas where your content is lacking, you will never be able to learn from it and know where to make necessary changes. Key analytics include likes, engagement rates, conversions, and shares.
