Everyone’s taking selfies nowadays, even paintings! Denmark-based designer Olivia Muus decided to amuse herself while on a trip to the museum by taking selfies. Not of herself, but of people in old portraits.
The technique is easy and anyone can get in on the action – after asking permission from the curator, of course! Using an extra phone, she positions her arm to make it look like the painting subject’s very own. She then clicks away, making it appear that the person in the painting is taking a mirror selfie.
It’s a fun take on two portraiture styles from different eras; one from the past and one from today.
