Biking and being on-the-move are big parts of how we work here at Foerstel, whether it’s cruising down to a photo-shoot or enjoying the weather as we pedal to lunch together.

Boise Bike Maintenance Station

It’s summer in Boise and there are cyclists galore on the Greenbelt and city streets alike. Of course, what would biking be without a flat tire every once in a while or a seat in need of adjustment?

Foerstel and Treefort Music Festival have you covered.

Together we sponsored a bike repair station in the heart of downtown right by our office. It’s got a universal pump to keep those tires filled, a rack to hang your cycle on for some tweaking, and a super surplus of tools to make sure you’ve got what you need for any emergency fix. If you cruise on down to Rhodes Skate Park, you’re sure to see it.

All that, plus a slick street art inspired design:

The lined and eclectic illustration style on the main part of the station is a nod to the vast styles of street art and creativity we see in the Boise BMX and skate culture, with a pencil-styled-pump speaking to how the art is in your hands. Feeling inspired and want to color in a section? Go for it! This convenient station is your canvas – just be sure to take a break when a Boise biker stops to sort out a flat tire!

Tom Foerstel

Founder & President

Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area in the 60’s, Tom developed a strong desire to create positive change for people and planet.

He went on to pursue his passion for art and design at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, and worked for design firms in Southern California before moving to Boise, Idaho in the early 80’s. Foerstel Design opened its doors in 1985. Since its inception, the firm has cultivated a bold, happy, forward-looking team focussed on creating distinct and effective work on behalf of their clients.

An integral part of Tom’s philosophy is giving back to the community in which he lives — a company cornerstone that drives Foerstel’s long history of providing pro-bono services to local non-profit humanitarian and arts programs.

One of Tom’s proudest personal achievements is his ability to say Supercalifragilisticexpyalidocious backwards.
