Summer is ramping up in Boise and while our garden continues to grow we also are experiencing overall growth within Foerstel and well on our mission to save the Earth. Just this month, we added a new amazing employee to the Foerstel crew. Meet Katy Kithcart, Junior Art Director.

Katy Kithcart

Katy just graduated from the University of Idaho, with a BFA in Studio Art and Design, with an emphasis in graphic design last year. While she was there, she worked for U of I’s photographic services department, capturing miscellaneous events and portraits and as a graphic designer for U of I’s International Programs Office. She has spent the last few months freelancing both portrait photography and design since moving back to Boise in December 2017. We’re thrilled she has joined the Foerstel team — it’s the first agency she’s experienced.
While Katy is away from her desk, she enjoys hiking and scoping out new photography locations, playing video or board games with friends, and eating all of the food — it could be savory or sweet, she loves them all. 🙂 She also has a new love of traveling! Since getting her passport in January 2017, she has squeezed in trips to Canada and Mexico. Other than that, she adores cute things, animals included!

Tom Foerstel

Founder & President

Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area in the 60’s, Tom developed a strong desire to create positive change for people and planet.

He went on to pursue his passion for art and design at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, and worked for design firms in Southern California before moving to Boise, Idaho in the early 80’s. Foerstel Design opened its doors in 1985. Since its inception, the firm has cultivated a bold, happy, forward-looking team focussed on creating distinct and effective work on behalf of their clients.

An integral part of Tom’s philosophy is giving back to the community in which he lives — a company cornerstone that drives Foerstel’s long history of providing pro-bono services to local non-profit humanitarian and arts programs.

One of Tom’s proudest personal achievements is his ability to say Supercalifragilisticexpyalidocious backwards.
