Enjoy a collection of musings, deep thoughts and good times from our crew here at Foerstel.

My favorite mode of transportation much of the year is an old cruiser bike. My friends ask why I don’t get one of the new models that look like the old ones but that are lighter weight, have gears and are bright and shiny. I know my bike might not

Highland Labs, an Oregon-based vitamin supplement manufacturer, asked us to help them brand a new line of supplements highlighting the company’s commitment to sustainability. Called Ecosana, the new line featured not only the best ingredients possible, but recycled paper labels printed with soy inks, and a revolutionary bottle, made with

Boy – those Foerstel girls cleaned up real nice for the Boise Ad Federation’s Rockie awards held on April 24th.

Mary K (pictured here with her handsome sons) What type of job did you have prior to landing here? I worked in Frankfurt, Germany at the Abrams Complex. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IG_Farben_Building It was by far the most interesting job I’ve had. Not the job itself, accounting (yawn), but the people. I worked

It’s gray, cloudy, windy and cold outside now but we are dreaming of warm summer evenings as we work on this fun and summery wine label for a new rosé from DC Flynt MW Selections. If you’re looking for a light and delicious complement to any summer meal, Lost Summer

Spring is here and it seemed appropriate to take a fresh photo of the foerstel crew. We got everyone in this shot, although not all on the same day (thanks for the compilation and retouching Claudia), including Ralphie!

Yeah, yeah… we know that Earth Day was yesterday but so continues our list of things we do to make Earth Day EVERY day! Kim & Jim recycle at home and work. Marie buys organic milk from a local company that delivers it in returnable/reusable containers, is using 100% recycled

April 22nd may be the day recognized as the official Earth Day but we try to think of it as every day. When Foerstelians were asked what they do on a daily basis to make their world a little greener, the list was long but included: John rides his bike

Let’s get in the way back machine with Mr. Peabody and go back to 1996….here is a conversation that you would have overheard. Linda: Let’s get office kitties! Tom: What? Really? Linda: Yes, really! I will love him and hug him and feed him and call him George (I could

With all the creativity floating around here, there’s no reason for blank walls. That’s why the latest Foerstel project is to arm each employee with a 16″ x 16″ canvas and total creative freedom to execute whatever they envision. We’re pretty sure we’ll be discovering all kinds of hidden talents.

It’s hard to simultaneously be a pizza eater and a vegan. Or at least it was before our client Tofurky developed a new line of pies. They combined their great meatless sausage and pepperoni products with the new revolutionary vegan cheese (it really melts!) from Diaya. Now no pizza eater

It might be raining and gray outside but there’s no reason to wait until May for flowers. These blossoms are brightening our reception area (and our day) now.

Tom Foerstel

Founder & President

Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area in the 60’s, Tom developed a strong desire to create positive change for people and planet.

He went on to pursue his passion for art and design at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, and worked for design firms in Southern California before moving to Boise, Idaho in the early 80’s. Foerstel Design opened its doors in 1985. Since its inception, the firm has cultivated a bold, happy, forward-looking team focussed on creating distinct and effective work on behalf of their clients.

An integral part of Tom’s philosophy is giving back to the community in which he lives — a company cornerstone that drives Foerstel’s long history of providing pro-bono services to local non-profit humanitarian and arts programs.

One of Tom’s proudest personal achievements is his ability to say Supercalifragilisticexpyalidocious backwards.
