Sydney-based artist Gunjan Aylawadi does some pretty impressive work with the old humble sheet of paper. Aylawadi says she developed this method of using paper ‘after spending a long time exploring paper sculptures’. According to her bio, she employs a unique method of paper cutting and curling, adding layers of texture and sculptural form to her hand drawn art. She also explains on her website what she loves most about creating these pieces:
“What I enjoy most about making my work is the experience people have when they look at it. They stop for a moment to have a closer look and the moment turns into long minutes of being fascinated by the beauty a simple medium like paper can add to the work in front of their eyes”
