Every year, the Idaho® Potato Commission hosts its annual Idaho® Potato Lovers Month Display Contest, encouraging retailers across the country to create eye-catching displays that celebrate Idaho potatoes and drive sales during February.
For the 2026 campaign, FPM was tasked with developing the creative concept, promotional identity, and point-of-sale materials that retailers would use to bring the campaign to life.

01. lights, camera, potatoes!
This year’s theme took shoppers back to the golden age of the drive-in movie theater. Inspired by nostalgic summer nights, vintage marquee signs, and classic cinema experiences, the creative direction centered around a “Spud Drive-In” concept.
To capture the feeling of an evening at the movies, we built the design around rich sunset hues, deep oranges, warm pinks, and twilight teals. The color palette created an inviting, energetic atmosphere that stood out in produce departments while reinforcing the fun, family-friendly spirit of the promotion.

02. designing for retail impact
The campaign extended far beyond the logo. FPM developed a complete suite of point-of-sale materials designed to help retailers create memorable displays and maximize participation in the contest. The assets were created to be highly visible, easy to use, and flexible for stores of all sizes.
From signage to balloons, every piece worked to tell a story and help retailers create their own “movie-worthy” Idaho® potato displays.
